Dr. Mark Atma is a 1988 graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He grew up in the Metro Detroit area and attended undergraduate studies at the University of Windsor, Ontario, before graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science at Michigan State University. He has long had a great affinity for animals and nature, in general, and the human-animal bond, specifically. He enjoys kayaking, bicycling, hiking, and gardening. He is married to Dr. Ruth TenBroek, and since 1997, they have operated the Pennfield Animal Hospital after purchasing it from Dr. Roger Luneke. They have three children, with two in college. Pets include: two dogs, ten cats, two horses, chickens and two very fine frogs!
